Does magnesium help you sleep better?

My sleep has been very restless lately, and I don't feel refreshed in the mornings. I was reading online that magnesium might help you get a deeper, better quality sleep. Is this generally true?

I have been having a hard time staying asleep through the night lately. Does magnesium help you stay asleep, or does it only help you fall asleep initially? I am a bit hesitant to try supplements and would love to hear your experiences.

My college-going son was sleeping very poorly due to stress. We started incorporating more pumpkin seeds and almonds into his snacks, and it really helped him rest better. Food-based magnesium is always a safe and gentle way to start.

Actually magnesium is pretty good for sleep quality yaar. I used to wake up feeling tired even after 8 hours, but after taking magnesium glycinate, the sleep feels much deeper. Just don't look at your phone in bed, otherwise nothing will help!

My mother advised me to drink warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg for sleep, which is very comforting. However, my doctor also suggested a mild magnesium supplement because my blood reports showed a slight deficiency. The combination of both has worked wonderfully for me.

Sleeplessness can sometimes be connected to thyroid imbalances, which was the case for me. I thought taking magnesium would solve my sleep issues, but it only got better once my thyroid levels were corrected with proper medication. Please get a blood test done.

If you are struggling with severe sleep issues, please consult a physician. At Max Hospital, my doctor explained that while magnesium supports muscle relaxation, chronic insomnia needs proper clinical evaluation to rule out apnea or anxiety.

Managing sleep with PCOS is always a bit tricky because of hormonal fluctuations. Magnesium glycinate has personally helped calm my anxiety and improved my sleep cycle slightly, but it works best when combined with a balanced diet. Do check with your gynecologist first.
