Does low ferritin cause weight gain?

I recently got my blood tests done, and my ferritin levels came back quite low. I've also been struggling with unexplained weight gain recently. Could low ferritin actually be a cause for this weight gain?

Actually, low ferritin means your body lacks stored iron, which leads to fatigue. Because you feel so tired, your daily activity drops, which can indirectly lead to weight gain. Get a complete iron profile done, and your doctor might suggest some simple iron tablets.

Low iron can make your metabolism very slow, which might cause weight gain. I suggest eating beetroot, pomegranate, and spinach regularly to boost your iron levels naturally. But if you are feeling extremely dizzy or weak, please visit a doctor immediately.

When your iron stores are low, your body doesn't get enough oxygen, leaving you too exhausted for any physical activity. I had this issue and found that gentle breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom helped with my energy levels while I worked on my diet. Slowly, my body balance returned.

I freaked out when my weight started going up and my energy was zero, thinking it was some major metabolic disorder. Turns out my ferritin was just single digit! Once I finished my doctor's prescribed iron course, my weight and energy both came back to normal.

Haan na, when iron is low we feel so lazy and just want to lie down all day. Then obviously weight will increase because of no activity. Mere saath bhi yahi hua tha, I was just gaining weight without eating much. Try checking your blood reports once.

I literally just finished my three-month iron supplement course for low ferritin last week. I had gained about 4 kgs because I was too tired to even walk. Trust me, once your ferritin levels improve, your metabolism kicks back and you start losing that stubborn weight.
