Does losartan potassium cause hair loss?

I'm taking Losartan Potassium for my high blood pressure, and I've been noticing more hair thinning lately. I know some medicines can affect hair. Is Losartan Potassium known to cause hair loss as a side effect?

I had some hair thinning when I started losartan potassium last year. What worked for me was ensuring my diet was rich in iron and protein, and I stopped taking very hot water baths. The shedding stopped, so give your body a little time.

I was also freaking out about this, yaar. Actually, my doctor told me it's extremely rare for losartan potassium to cause hair loss. It is usually just work stress or bad water quality in cities. Don't worry too much.

I understand how distressing hair fall can be. When I was on BP meds, I used to apply fresh curry leaves paste mixed with curd on my scalp twice a week. It really strengthens the roots, but do keep taking your medicine as the doctor advised.

Honestly, between my late-night shifts and crazy stress, my hair was leaving me anyway. I've been on losartan potassium and didn't notice any extra hair fall because of it. If you are really worried, just ask your doc to switch it.

It is highly unlikely that losartan potassium is the main reason for your hair fall. Instead of worrying, just get a basic blood test done for vitamin levels on your weekend. Discuss the results with your doctor to save time.
