Does loratadine cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed Loratadine for my seasonal allergies. I'm always cautious about medicines and their side effects, especially weight-related ones. Does Loratadine typically cause weight gain?

Loratadine is just a simple allergy tablet, it won't make you fat. If you are gaining weight, look at what you are eating daily instead of blaming the pill.

Nahi beta, hum toh saalon se allergy ke liye ye dawai le rahe hain, isse koi vajan nahi badhta. Aap bilkul chinta mat karo, aaram se khao.

I have been taking Loratadine during every monsoon for my dust allergy for the last ten years. I have never faced any weight issues due to it. It is one of the safest old medicines.

I read online that some antihistamines can block certain receptors and increase appetite, which made me so worried! But when I took Loratadine, I didn't see any difference. Just try to monitor your hunger levels to be safe.

Loratadine is a second-generation antihistamine, so it doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier much and rarely causes drowsiness or appetite spikes. Just log your food on an app to ensure your daily calories are in check.
