Does loose skin after weight loss go away?

I've recently lost a significant amount of weight, and while I'm happy with the progress, I'm left with quite a bit of loose skin, especially on my arms and stomach. I'm doing exercises, but does this loose skin eventually tighten up on its own, or is it usually permanent?

I lost 30 kgs in a year and had quite a bit of loose skin around my stomach. Strength training really helped tighten it up, though it takes a lot of time. Don't expect it to vanish overnight.

I am just starting my fitness journey and this is my biggest fear. How much weight loss actually starts causing loose skin?

I have lost 15 kgs but now my arms look so saggy and I feel very self-conscious. Does it actually get better with time, or did you guys have to get some treatment for it?

Bro, it depends on how fast you lose it. If you crash diet, you will get loose skin for sure. Just lift weights and do it slowly, your skin will adapt.

It can shrink a little bit naturally, but significant loose skin usually requires medical intervention to go away completely.

Don't buy into those random oils and collagen drinks people sell online to tighten skin. If you have severe loose skin, consult a certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to understand realistic options.

Give your body at least a year to recover after major weight loss. The skin is a living organ and shrinks slowly, so be patient with yourself and keep eating a balanced diet.

Yes, some of it definitely tightens up. Staying hydrated and focusing on building muscle is key.

Listen, if you lost a huge amount of weight, some skin is bound to remain. Accept it as a badge of honor for your hard work, and don't waste money on fake firming creams.

Honestly, I'm too tired chasing my toddler to worry about my loose skin anymore. It shrinks a tiny bit over the years, but mostly you just learn to live with your new squishy self.
