Does lemon water help with kidney stone pain?

My cousin recently had a kidney stone attack, and she said drinking lemon water helped a lot with the pain. I'm wondering if this is true. Does lemon water help with kidney stone pain, or was it just her imagination?

Lemon water can help prevent certain stones over time, but it won't stop active, severe kidney stone pain. For instant relief during an attack, you need proper pain management under a doctor's guidance. Keep drinking plenty of plain water to help flush things out naturally.

Yes, I agree that lemon water helps with prevention, but please go to the clinic immediately if the pain is too severe to handle.

Listen, don't play around with home remedies when you are in pain. Lemon water is good for daily health, but it won't act like a painkiller. Go see a doctor, get the right medicine, and drink lots of water to flush it out safely.

My dear, lemon water is wonderful for keeping the urinary tract clean and preventing new stones from forming. But during acute pain, home remedies will not work and you shouldn't delay seeing a doctor. Please take care and get checked.

Our elders always suggested drinking barley water or lemon water for urinary issues, which is good for hydration. However, when my brother had a kidney stone, the pain was unbearable and only the hospital medications helped him. Please consult a doctor for pain relief.

I am also dealing with a dull ache in my side and wondering if lemon water actually works for this. Did anyone else feel a sharp pain before the stone passed? I'm quite worried and thinking of booking a doctor's appointment tomorrow.

Oh god, kidney stone pain sounds so terrifying, I hope you are doing okay! I read that lemon water has citrate which helps break down small stones, but for actual pain, I would be too scared to wait. Please go to a hospital if it hurts a lot.

Don't depend on lemon water or any internet remedies for severe pain. Kidney stone pain can be intense and might indicate a blockage, which is dangerous. You need to get an ultrasound done and verify the stone size with a urologist.
