Does leaky gut cause weight gain?

I've been hearing a lot about 'leaky gut' and its connection to various health issues. My naturopath suggested it might be contributing to my recent weight gain. Is there any evidence that leaky gut can actually cause weight gain?

Don't stress too much about it, yaara! Leaky gut can cause inflammation which sometimes leads to bloating and weight gain, but you can easily manage it by eating clean and relaxing a bit.

Actually, gut inflammation can mess with your metabolism and cause weight issues. Focus on getting enough fiber, fermented foods, and maintaining a regular workout routine to keep your gut lining healthy.

Honestly, my gut is so confused from all my late-night coffees and lack of sleep. But yes, gut issues definitely bloat me up like a balloon, making me look like I gained five kilos overnight!

It can certainly contribute to weight gain because the body remains in a constant state of mild inflammation. Take a deep breath, start cuting down on processed food, and consult a good gastroenterologist to guide you.

Look, if your gut health is bad, your body won't absorb nutrients properly and you will end up holding onto fat. Stop eating outside junk, eat simple home-cooked food, and get your stomach checked.
