Does lamotrigine cause weight gain?

Taking lamotrigine for my bipolar disorder for some time now, I've definitely put on weight. I'm trying to eat healthy, but the weight seems to be increasing anyway. Is weight gain a common side effect of taking lamotrigine?

Hey! Don't worry, lamotrigine is actually known to be quite weight-neutral compared to other similar meds. Just keep up your active lifestyle and enjoy your healthy meals! 😊

I've been on it for over 8 months now and didn't gain any weight. Just hit the gym regularly and eat normal home food, you'll be completely fine.

I completely understand how stressful it is to worry about weight gain when starting a new medication, it used to keep me up at night too. Just take a deep breath; lamotrigine is generally very friendly on this front.

When I was prescribed this at Max Hospital, the specialist told me it rarely causes weight gain. But since everyone's body is different, it is always best to clarify any concerns directly with your doctor.

Honestly, I haven't noticed any weight changes since I started taking it. I still fit into my same old jeans, so you don't need to stress about this at all.

Hey, don't stress too much about the weight thing! This medicine is usually very chill and doesn't cause weight gain. Just focus on feeling better first, okay?

Look, the medicine itself won't make you fat. Just don't use it as an excuse to eat junk and sit around all day. Keep a simple, healthy diet and you will be fine.
