Does klor-con cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed Klor-Con for my low potassium levels. Since I started taking it, I feel a bit bloated and the scale seems to be creeping up. I'm worried if this medicine is actually causing me to gain weight.

Honestly, weight changes can happen with many prescription meds, but Klor-Con is basically potassium. I always try to focus on coconut water and bananas for natural potassium, but if your doctor specifically prescribed this, please don't stop it on your own. If you are experiencing sudden swelling or heavy breathing, go see your doc immediately.

I also felt a bit bloated when I started it. It is actually quite common, don't worry too much.

It doesn't directly cause fat gain, but fluid retention can sometimes make you feel heavier. Best to track your daily salt intake and stay active despite a busy schedule. Just consult your doctor to see if you actually need a dosage adjustment instead of guessing.

I literally cried seeing the scale go up by 3 kgs in a week when I started Klor-Con. It feels so frustrating when you are trying to stay healthy and the medicine makes you swell up. Just hang in there, it's mostly water retention and not real fat, but do let your doc know how much it is affecting you.

My husband was also prescribed this and felt some mild bloating in the beginning. My mother-in-law suggested drinking barley water to reduce the water weight, but we still took the doctor's proper advice first. Please talk to your cardiologist or physician before changing anything, ma.
