Oh, absolutely. When I was extremely stressed during my college exams, my cortisol went through the roof and I gained so much belly fat out of nowhere. Trying to sleep early and doing 10 minutes of deep breathing really helped me bring it down.

Yes, high cortisol directly signals your body to store fat, especially around the stomach area. It also increases your cravings for sugary foods.

Cortisol is just the physical manifestation of stress in our bodies. Please stay positive, take deep breaths, and let go of worries that you cannot control. The body will naturally balance its weight when the mind finds peace.

I read that high cortisol can completely ruin your metabolism and cause permanent weight gain, which makes me so anxious every time I feel stressed! But please don't worry too much, starting with very small lifestyle changes can help control it before it gets bad.

Yes, it absolutely does because cortisol slows down metabolism and increases visceral fat storage. Reducing caffeine intake can help lower it.
