Does hypnotherapy work for weight loss?

My wife has been trying various methods to lose weight, and someone recommended hypnotherapy. Before we consider it, I wanted to ask if hypnotherapy work for weight loss at all. Is it worth exploring?

Honestly, weight loss is such an emotional battle. I spent years crying over scales and tried hypnotherapy hoping it would stop my stress eating. It didn't magically melt fat, but it did help me feel a bit calmer and less obsessed with food. Sometimes you just need something to help with the mental block, you know?

With my PCOS, weight loss is super stubborn and I've read about hypnotherapy too. I don't think there is any solid proof that it works for everyone, and it certainly won't fix hormonal imbalances on its own. It might help with mindfulness, but don't expect miracles and keep your doctor in the loop.

I always believe in simple home lifestyle changes first like drinking warm water and walking daily. These clinical mind therapies sound fancy, but we should focus on clean eating first. Although, if your weight issues are due to severe thyroid or metabolic conditions, please consult a proper doctor rather than trying these offline clinics.

True change always starts from training the mind, which is what we practice in pranayama and deep meditation. Hypnotherapy tries to do something similar by calming your subconscious urges. In my experience, regular breathing exercises will give you the same self-control over food cravings without spending so much money.

I tried it for two months and honestly, it didn't do anything for my weight. Better to stick to standard calorie tracking and workouts.
