Does hypnotherapy really work for weight loss?

A colleague at work recently underwent hypnotherapy and claims she lost a significant amount of weight. I'm intrigued but also cautious. Does hypnotherapy really work for weight loss, or is it just a placebo effect?

It can only help with mental discipline to avoid overeating, but it does not have any biological effect on your fat cells. Practically, you still need a proper balanced diet and physical activity to see weight loss.

I have been struggling so much with emotional eating and was thinking of trying hypnotherapy. Has anyone here actually tried it? Did it really help you stop craving sweets, or is it just a scam?

Instead of hypnotherapy, which depends on someone else, try practicing mindfulness and deep breathing before meals. It helps connect you with your body's natural hunger cues and curbs emotional eating beautifully.

Honestly, it is a waste of time and money. Hypnotherapy won't create a calorie deficit for you. If you want to lose weight, hire a good nutritionist and hit the gym. That is the only thing that works.

Actually yaar, it is mostly psychological. It might help you say no to junk food, but you still have to put in the physical work. Don't rely on it entirely for weight loss.

If hypnotherapy worked, all of us would be thin by now! At this age, only eating less chapati and walking daily helps. Save your money and buy some good walking shoes instead.

It might help change your attitude towards food, but the core of weight loss is still a clean, fiber-rich vegetarian diet with portion control. No therapy can override the effects of eating processed food.
