Does hypnosis work for weight loss really work?

My friend told me about using hypnosis for weight loss, and I'm very skeptical. It sounds too good to be true. Does hypnosis work for weight loss, really work, or is it just a temporary thing?

Honestly, if someone could hypnotize me to stop loving butter chicken and garlic naan, I would be very happy! But practically, it doesn't work. We just have to control our own portions.

My son was very stressed about his weight and wanted to try hypnosis. I told him there are no magical shortcuts. We worked on cutting out sodas and processed food, which actually showed real results.

It sounds very fancy and magical, but it doesn't really work for fat loss! Just eat healthy, move your body, and stay happy. That is the best formula.

I was researching this online. Some studies say it helps with mind control and stopping emotional eating, but it doesn't directly cause weight loss. It is definitely not a substitute for diet and exercise.

I spent a good amount of money on a hypnotherapist last year. It was just deep relaxation and nothing else. I only lost weight when I finally joined a gym and started tracking my food.
