Does hyperthyroidism cause weight gain?

My friend has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and she has actually gained a lot of weight instead of losing it. I thought hyperthyroidism usually causes weight loss. Can hyperthyroidism actually cause weight gain for some people?

Usually, hyperthyroidism causes weight loss, but sometimes the treatment or a sudden shift in hormones can cause weight gain. You must do regular T3, T4, and TSH tests and follow up closely with your endocrinologist.

For thyroid, eating coriander seed water in the morning is helpful, but if your weight is fluctuating rapidly, you must see a doctor. Home remedies alone cannot fix severe hormone issues.

Hormonal imbalances can disturb the natural rhythm of the body, leading to weight changes. Stay calm, eat clean food, and let the doctors guide you. Take care.

Arey, my body is so confused that even with hyperthyroidism, I managed to gain weight! Sometimes our appetite just goes into overdrive. It is best to let the doctor adjust the dosage.

While hyperthyroidism is famous for weight loss, some people actually experience increased appetite and end up gaining weight. Don't waste time guessing; just get a blood test done and consult a specialist.

Hormones are highly complex. Even if the textbook says weight loss, any sudden change in weight should be checked by a doctor to rule out other metabolic complications.
