Hydrocodone itself doesn't cause direct fat gain, but it slows down your bowels and makes you constipated, which feels like bloating. Drink plenty of water and eat high-fiber foods to manage this.

I was on this painkiller briefly after my surgery and didn't experience any weight gain. It actually made me a bit nauseous, so my appetite was quite low.

I ignored severe bloating and swelling while taking strong pain meds, thinking it was just a minor issue, but it was fluid retention affecting my kidneys. Please get checked by a doctor if you see sudden swelling.

At this stage of life, pain medicines are sometimes necessary, but they can slow down your digestion. Do some light stretching or walking around the house to keep your metabolism active.

When I had my treatment at a major hospital, the doctors clearly told me that opioids can cause water retention and sluggish digestion. You should explicitly ask your physician if this is happening to you.

Do not worry, sister. Eat light green vegetables and drink warm water. Pain medicines are strong and can make the stomach heavy, but it will go away once the pain stops.
