Does higher progesterone cause weight gain?

After my last period, I feel so bloated and heavy, and it feels like I've put on weight. Could it be linked to higher progesterone levels during that time?

Yes, it can definitely make you hold onto water weight and feel super bloated! 😊 Don't worry too much, just keep drinking lots of water to flush out that extra fluid.

Progesterone can slow down your digestion and cause some bloating and scale weight gain. If your doctor allows, try to go for a brisk 45-minute walk daily to keep your metabolism active and reduce water retention.

Yes, high progesterone is well known for causing water retention and increased appetite, which lead to weight gain.

I went through this during my hormone replacement therapy. It increases your cravings, especially for sweet and salty things. Track your daily food intake and sleep early so you don't indulge in late-night snacking.

Haan, weight gain or bloating toh hotal hi hai isse. Progesterone body me water hold karta hai na, toh hume lagta hai fat badh gaya. Don't stress, take a clean diet.

Progesterone naturally slows down gut motility and can lead to fluid retention, which mimics real fat gain. However, to pinpoint the exact hormonal cause, it is best to consult an endocrinologist for proper testing.

I was wondering if this weight gain goes away naturally once the hormone levels settle down? I am feeling very anxious about my changing body.
