Does high protein cause weight gain?

I've started eating a lot more protein to build muscle for the gym. But now I'm worried if taking too much protein might actually cause me to gain unwanted weight.

Moderation is the key to all health. Eat simple, wholesome meals that suit your body's nature, and keep your mind peaceful. Too much of anything, even protein, can unbalance the system.

I was so worried about this when I started drinking protein shakes. I kept checking my weight twice a day! If we consume more calories than we burn, even healthy protein can cause gain. Make sure you calculate your overall daily intake.

I track my macros daily on an app. Protein actually boosts metabolism, but if you are eating high-fat meats or drinking heavy shakes, the calories add up quickly. Try tracking your food for a week to see where you stand.

I ignored my diet and kept stuffing protein supplements thinking it was healthy, until my kidney markers got elevated. Please do a regular blood checkup and talk to a doctor before making drastic dietary changes.
