Does hepatitis show up in routine blood work?

I've been feeling a bit fatigued lately, so my doctor ordered some general blood work. I'm concerned about hepatitis. Will standard routine blood work be enough to detect if I have hepatitis, or should I specifically ask for a different test?

My general practitioner mentioned that routine blood tests like a CBC or lipid profile won't detect it. Only a dedicated hepatitis antigen or antibody blood test can confirm the presence of the virus.

Not directly in basic routine blood work. It might show elevated SGOT/SGPT levels in an LFT, which suggests liver issues, but you need specific viral marker tests to confirm hepatitis.

When my relative had it, his regular yearly health checkup reports looked mostly normal except for a slight liver enzyme change. The doctor had to write a separate test specifically for hepatitis to find it.

Basic package tests don't include this. It is better to plan and ask the lab for a specific hepatitis test combo, which costs around 500 to 1000 rupees extra depending on the city.

Don't get confused by basic reports. If you are worried, simply ask your laboratory or doctor to perform a specific hepatitis panel test. It will clear all your doubts.

Routine tests don't show it directly. I tried many herbal detoxes thinking it was normal acidity, but later realized only a proper medical blood test for hepatitis can show what is actually happening inside.
