Does hair loss skip a generation?

My dad has a full head of hair, but my grandfather on his side was quite bald from a young age. Now I'm starting to notice some thinning at my temples. I heard somewhere that hair loss can skip a generation, so I'm a bit concerned.

I was actually reading about this because my dad has a full head of hair but my grandfather was completely bald. People say it skips, but is that really how genes work? If anyone knows if maternal side genes matter more, please do tell me, I am quite confused.

Beta, these family traits are complex and genes can show up anytime. Instead of worrying about what will happen, focus on keeping your scalp healthy right now. Regular head massage with warm mustard or coconut oil mixed with a little curry leaves has worked wonders in our family for generations.

Honestly, don't stress too much about genetics, bro. Half of my family has amazing hair and the other half started balding at 25, but stress will definitely make it worse. Just eat healthy, sleep well, and let your hair do its thing.

I get so scared thinking about this because my mother's brothers all lost their hair early. Do you guys also stare at your comb every single day and count the strands? I keep wondering if I am next, it is honestly so stressful.

Haan yaar, maine bhi ye kaafi suna hai ki skip hota hai, par stands to reason na ki health and diet bhi matter karti hai. Mere cousin ke case mein toh unke father ke hair mast hain par uski receding hairline start ho gayi hai. It really depends on luck, na?

Haan na, genetics can be so unpredictable and confusing. Mere family mein toh look at both sides, mix pattern dikhta hai. It is better not to overthink this and just use mild shampoos instead of harsh chemicals.

In my line of work, I see many people seeking magic pills for genetic hair loss. The truth is, while genetics play a massive role, your lifestyle and iron levels also dictate how fast it happens. If you notice sudden patchiness, better to consult a dermatologist directly.

Actually, I was researching this on medical forums last week. It turns out hair loss is polygenic, meaning it involves many different genes from both parents, so it doesn't follow a simple skip-a-generation rule. It's more like a genetic lottery.
