Does hair loss from stress come back?

I went through a very stressful period last year, and since then I've noticed significant hair thinning. Now that things are calmer, I'm hoping my hair will recover. Does hair loss caused by stress usually come back on its own?

At my age, half the stress is about losing hair and the other half causes the hair loss! But jokes apart, yes, stress hair fall is usually temporary. Once you calm down, the hair generally returns.

This condition is called telogen effluvium, where stress pushes hair into a shedding phase. Once the stress trigger is removed or managed, your hair will typically start growing back in 3 to 6 months. Just focus on a good diet and sleep.

I lost so much hair during my final exams, but once I celebrated with a lot of good street food and relaxed, it started coming back! Just feed your body well and don't take too much load.

I went through a very difficult family time in my youth and lost clumps of hair. But with time, peace of mind returned, and so did my hair. Have patience, our bodies have a wonderful way of healing.

I was constantly panicking thinking my stress-related hair fall would be permanent, which only made me more stressed! But reading other people's positive experiences really helps. Yes, it does grow back once we calm our minds.
