Does hair gel cause hair fall?

I use hair gel almost daily for styling, but my dad keeps telling me it's bad for my hair and will make it fall out. Is there any truth to this? Can hair gel really cause hair loss if used regularly?

Chemical gels can make the hair dry and clog the scalp pores, which may lead to shedding. I suggest keeping your hair clean and practicing scalp massage to improve blood circulation naturally.

Using gel daily can dry out your hair and cause breakage, so I prefer using natural aloe vera gel instead. If you already have severe hair loss and scalp irritation, please consult a dermatologist rather than trying to fix it yourself.

I used to style my hair with heavy gel every single day while heading out for food walks! Eventually, my hair got so dry and brittle. Now I prioritize nutrition and eating my proteins over styling products.

My brother used hair gel every day for college and his hair started thinning really fast. Once he stopped using those strong chemicals and switched to a mild shampoo, his hair fall actually reduced a lot.

I just recovered from a bad phase of hair fall caused by styling gels. My doctor told me that the chemicals build up on the scalp and block new hair growth. I stopped gels completely three months ago, and my scalp feels so much healthier now.
