Does hair fall out more in autumn?

I've read somewhere that people tend to lose more hair in autumn, just like animals shed their fur. Is there any scientific basis for this? I often notice more hair fall around that time of year.

Yes, the dry autumn air can make the scalp a bit flaky and weak. I used to apply mild homemade onion juice or curd packs, which really helped soothe my scalp. Just ensure you wash it off thoroughly with a gentle shampoo.

It can happen due to seasonal transitions, but make sure you aren't lacking nutrients. I always add extra almonds, seeds, and green leafy vegetables to my diet during this phase. Good nutrition keeps the roots strong when the weather changes.

I thought my heavy hair fall was just autumn shedding, but it never stopped and I lost a lot of density. It turned out to be thyroid related. Please go see a doctor for some basic blood tests if it goes on for more than a month.

My daughter faced this last autumn when she moved hostels. I started sending her home-cooked dry fruits and a gentle hair oil to use once a week. Taking care of their daily routine really helps them manage this stress-free.

Seasonal shifts do cause some shedding, but staying active and keeping up with your protein intake can make a huge difference. If your general health and metabolism are good, your hair recovers much faster.

Don't stress too much, buddy! It's just a phase and our bodies react to the changing weather. Keep yourself hydrated and don't stare at the hair brush too much, it will get back to normal soon.
