Does h pylori cause hair loss?

I've been dealing with unexplained hair loss for months, and it's really stressing me out. My cousin recently recovered from an H. pylori infection and told me she also experienced hair fall during that time. Could H. pylori be a reason for my hair loss?

Yes, it can. Since H. pylori prevents proper absorption of iron and B12, it often leads to hair fall, so get your nutrient levels checked.

I went through this and it was so depressing to see my hair falling out in clumps while dealing with stomach pain. I felt so insecure, but once the doctor cleared my H. pylori and I started iron supplements, my hair slowly started growing back. Hang in there, it is temporary and you will get through this.

First my stomach starts acting like a pressure cooker, and then my hair starts leaving my head like it's a sinking ship. The gut issues caused poor nutrition absorption which triggered my hair fall. Just take your vitamins, clear the infection, and try not to lose sleep over it like I did.

Oh god, I went down a rabbit hole reading about this because my hair was falling and my stomach was constantly bloated. I was so stressed thinking it was some permanent damage, but thankfully it gets better once the infection is treated. Please get a blood test done for vitamin deficiencies, it really helps calm the mind.

Don't panic, bacha. H. pylori causes inflammation in your gut, which makes it hard for your body to absorb nutrients like iron and zinc, leading to hair thinning. Focus on finishing your doctor's antibiotic course first, eat simple food, and the hair fall will stop naturally once your gut heals.

Yes, the gut inflammation stops nutrient absorption, which affects your hair. Along with your medical treatment and a clean diet, try doing mild exercises or morning walks to keep your stress levels low, as stress also worsens hair loss. Just make sure your doctor says it is okay to exercise.

It is actually very common to experience hair fall during or after an H. pylori infection. The bacteria lowers stomach acid, which directly impacts how well you absorb protein and iron from food. Once your treatment is done, work with your doctor to replenish your iron and B12 levels.
