Does glucosamine cause weight gain?

I've been taking glucosamine for my bad knee. My weight has also gone up a bit recently, and I'm trying to figure out if it's my diet or something else. Can glucosamine cause weight gain?

Honestly I was so stressed about this too when my joints started aching. I felt like every pill I took was just bloating me up and it made me so anxious. But after talking to my doctor, we realized my weight change was just from less movement because of my knee pain, not the supplement itself.

I have seen this question come up so many times in our support groups. From what most members share, glucosamine doesn't directly cause weight gain. If you are noticing any changes, it is always a good idea to discuss it with your orthopedician just to be sure.

Hey! Don't worry at all. I have been taking glucosamine for my gym injury for six months now and my weight has been completely steady. Just keep your routine active and you will be absolutely fine! 😊

Since I have PCOS, I always get super scared about any new supplement causing weight gain. I took glucosamine for a brief period for joint stiffness and didn't see any sudden jump on the scale. Still, bodies react differently so please keep track and consult your gynecologist or doctor.

Haan yaar, shuru me mujhe bhi laga tha ki isse weight badhega. Par aisa kuch nahi hai, scientifically iska koi link nahi hai weight gain se. Apne doctor se baat kar lo ek baar, tension mat lo bilkul.

In our days we relied on turmeric milk and regular oil massages for joint health, but modern medicines also have their place. Glucosamine won't increase your weight, but do not ignore physical activity. Drink warm water and keep moving gently.

Being a high BP patient, I monitor everything I consume very closely. I have used glucosamine under my doctor's supervision without any weight changes. Make sure you keep checking your pressure regularly and walk daily if your joints permit.

I struggle with thyroid-related weight gain, so I get your concern. When my doctor suggested glucosamine, I got worried too, but it didn't affect my weight. If you're experiencing unexplained gain, please get your thyroid panel and blood sugar checked first.

Humare ghar mein bhi doctor ne sasurji ko yeh likh ke diya tha. Unka toh koi vajan nahi badha, balki ghutno ka dard thoda theek hua toh chalne-phirne lage. Aap bina chinta kiye doctor ki salah se lijiye.

Listen, don't stress yourself out reading random things online. Glucosamine is basically for cartilage support and doesn't have calories to make you gain fat. Just focus on recovering from your joint pain and let the doctor guide you on the dosage.
