Does gabapentin help with teeth pain?

My wisdom tooth has been bothering me so much for the past two days, it's unbearable. My neighbor said she took something called gabapentin for her severe toothache a while ago. Is this really something that can help with tooth pain, or should I just stick to painkillers?

Tooth pain is honestly the most emotionally draining thing, it makes you feel so helpless. If your doctor prescribed this, it is likely because the nerve in your jaw is highly irritated. I hope you get relief very soon.

Hey, tooth pain can be absolute torture, but don't worry. Gabapentin can help if the pain is nerve-related, like trigeminal neuralgia. Just make sure you get a dentist to look at the actual tooth soon.

It can help reduce the sharp shooting sensations in your jaw. Please take care, rest well, and try to visit a dentist as soon as possible for proper treatment.

Actually gabapentin regular toothache ke liye nahi hota yaar, unless it is a deep nerve issue or facial pain. Better to visit a dentist and get a proper x-ray done instead of guessing.

While taking your prescribed medication, try to eat only soft, simple vegetarian food like khichdi or curd rice. Avoid very hot or cold foods as they can trigger the dental nerve pain further.

I had a crazy nerve pain after my wisdom tooth extraction and my doctor gave me this. It took a couple of days to really kick in, but it definitely made the pain bearable. Go get it checked though.

As a diabetic, dental health is very critical for me as infections can spike sugar levels. If you are using this for nerve pain in the jaw, make sure your blood sugar is also under tight control to aid faster healing.

Haan, tooth nerve pain mein yeh kaafi relief de sakta hai, especially if the pain is shooting up. Par pehle dentist se check karwa lo na, treatment hi iska permanent solution hai.

Gabapentin targets neuropathic pain rather than acute inflammatory pain like a typical toothache. If your dental pain is from a cavity or infection, standard NSAIDs or a dental procedure are usually necessary. Please consult a qualified dentist.

In my experience, when dental pain spreads to the ears and face, doctors use this medicine to soothe the facial nerves. It works well, but do not delay getting the tooth checked by a specialist.

I had a similar issue where the dental pain was radiating to my neck. This medicine really helped soothe those irritated facial nerves. Warm water gargles also helped ease the local discomfort a bit.

Gabapentin isn't a quick-fix painkiller for regular tooth decay. It is generally prescribed for chronic dental nerve issues or post-surgical nerve pain. Talk to your dentist to see if you actually need a dental treatment instead.

This toothache was keeping me up till 4 AM every night. Gabapentin finally knocked me out and lessened that throbbing pain. Strongly advise seeing a dentist before you run out of sleep entirely.

It can help with the nerve sensitivity, but don't keep taking pills to delay dental work. A simple root canal or filling at a local clinic is a permanent solution and cheaper than taking long courses of medicines.
