Does ezetimibe cause weight gain?

My doctor prescribed Ezetimibe for my high cholesterol levels. I'm really trying to manage my weight, so I wanted to ask if this medication tends to cause weight gain in patients. Thoda tension ho rahi hai.

No, Ezetimibe does not cause weight gain. It works by blocking cholesterol absorption in your small intestine, which has nothing to do with fat accumulation. If you are gaining weight, you need to look at your daily calorie intake and physical activity.

I totally get it, when you start a new daily pill, every small change in your weight can make you feel so anxious. But rest assured, Ezetimibe is generally weight-neutral. Try not to stress too much and give your body some time to adapt.

I did some research on this last week. Clinical data shows that Ezetimibe has no metabolic effect that would cause you to put on weight. Any changes in weight are usually due to diet modifications or other medications you might be taking.

My teenage son had to take this for familial hypercholesterolemia, and we were also worried about weight changes. Thankfully, he didn't gain any weight at all because of the medicine. Just keep providing healthy, home-cooked meals.

Great news! Ezetimibe is completely weight-neutral, so you don't have to worry about gaining any extra kilos from this medicine. Just keep eating clean and stay active, and you'll do great!

Ezetimibe doesn't have any clinical link to weight gain. To keep your cholesterol and weight both in perfect check, try adding a brisk 45-minute walk daily. Regular physical movement is the best support for your heart medicine.
