Does estrogen patch cause weight gain?

I'm considering an estrogen patch for my hot flashes, but I'm already struggling with weight gain in menopause. Will using an estrogen patch make me gain even more weight?

A lot of women feel some bloating and fullness when they start using these patches. Drinking fennel or ginger tea can help reduce water retention naturally, but if you experience sudden severe leg pain or chest discomfort, go to a doctor immediately.

With my terrible sleep schedule, I already look bloated half the time! The patch might cause a little water weight initially, but honestly, it is mostly just temporary puffiness and not actual fat.

Our bodies sometimes hold onto water when adjusting to new treatments. Don't worry too much, stay positive and keep eating fresh, simple home-cooked meals. Take gentle care of yourself during this transition.

While mild weight fluctuations can happen, any rapid or significant weight gain while using hormone patches should be evaluated. It is important to get your thyroid and blood pressure checked regularly to ensure it is safe for you.

The patch itself won't make you gain weight, but it might give you those random cravings for spicy street food or sweets. Just keep a check on your snacks and you will be completely fine.
