Does estrogen dominance cause weight gain?

I've gained quite a bit of weight in the last year, especially around my hips and thighs, despite trying to eat healthy. I suspect a hormonal issue. Does estrogen dominance cause weight gain, and could that be my problem?

Yes yaar, actually it does. When estrogen is too high compared to progesterone, your body just loves to hold onto fat, especially around the thighs and hips. I have seen my sister struggle with this so much till she got her hormones checked.

According to my cycle tracker app data, weight fluctuations and water retention are super common during the high-estrogen phase. It slows down your basal metabolic rate slightly. Tracking your daily step count and keeping sodium low helps manage this bloat.

Haan ji, jab harmone bigad jata hai toh sharir me bhari-pan aane lagta hai. Isme chinta mat kijiye, ghar ka saf suthra khana khaiye aur thoda subah ghumne jaya kariye, sab thik ho jayega.

I know how stressful it is to watch the scale go up for no clear reason, it used to give me so much anxiety. Estrogen dominance can definitely cause stubborn weight gain and bloating. Please don't blame yourself, it is just a hormonal issue that can be managed.

Oh god, I always worry about this too! Every time I gain even half a kilo, I start thinking if my estrogen is dominant or if my thyroid is acting up. Definitely get a blood test done so you don't keep stressing and overthinking like me.
