Does estradiol cause weight gain?

I just started estradiol treatment for my hot flashes. I'm hearing mixed things about weight changes. Does estradiol cause weight gain, as many people seem to experience?

My wife has been on this and she did notice some weight gain. Because I manage high blood pressure, we are both very careful about our lifestyle now. She started monitoring her salt intake and we both go for regular medical checkups. Keeping your blood pressure and activity levels in check helps handle hormone-related weight issues.

I totally panicked when I gained 3 kgs in the first month and almost stopped the medication! But my doctor told me it's just mild water retention, which is completely normal with estrogen. After another month, the bloating went away on its own. Don't worry, just give your body some time to adapt.

Please don't start drinking random herbal juices or skipping meals based on internet advice to prevent weight gain. Estradiol is a medical hormone, and how your body reacts depends entirely on your system. If the weight gain is bothering you, discuss it directly with your gynecologist for a proper solution.

I ignored my weight gain and swelling while on hormone therapy, thinking it was just a minor side effect. It turned out to be a thyroid issue that got triggered. Please don't ignore these changes. Go to your doctor and get a proper blood panel done to ensure everything is fine.

I tried everything from cumin water to warm lemon-honey water to stop the bloating from estradiol. Honestly, those help with digestion, but the hormone weight is real. The most practical thing is just to reduce your salt intake, eat small portions, and accept that your body is going through a phase.

My mom was prescribed this and she kept complaining about putting on weight. I helped her set up a simple routine of walking 5k steps a day and cutting down on her evening tea biscuits. It actually worked, and she feels much lighter now. It's mostly about staying active.

Keep your mind peaceful and positive, as stress itself can cause the body to hold weight. Take care of your health, eat simple satvik food, and do some light yoga. If your body needs this medicine to heal, accept it with gratitude and let the doctor handle the technical details.

Agree with others, it causes some initial bloating. Cutting down on sugar and processed food really helps manage it.
