Does eating slower help with weight loss?

I tend to eat my meals very quickly, often finishing before others. A friend suggested that eating slower could actually help me eat less and lose weight. Does eating slower genuinely help with weight loss?

From my experience of trying various weight loss tricks, eating without distractions is the most practical way. If you chew your food properly, you naturally eat less. I always sit down and eat calmly, and it has really improved my digestion.

I have mentioned this on other threads too, but our brain takes about 20 minutes to realize we are full. When you eat slower, you give your body time to send that signal. It is a very simple and free way to cut down on extra calories.

Slowing down your eating speed helps reduce the glycemic response and prevents overeating. While it is a helpful behavioral habit, overall weight loss depends on your daily caloric deficit. It is best to consult a clinical nutritionist for a structured meal plan.

At 55, if I try to eat any faster, my teeth might give up on me, haha! But honestly, slow eating is the only way I avoid acidity nowadays. It might help with weight, but it definitely saves you from carrying antacids everywhere.

Actually yaar, eating slower really works. I used to finish my plate in 5 minutes while scrolling on my phone. Now I keep the phone away and it takes me 15 minutes, and I feel super full with smaller portions. Try it, it is a game changer.

I was just reading some articles on mindfulness and weight loss today. They say that slow chewing increases satiety hormones. I am going to try this from dinner tonight because my current eating speed is way too fast.
