Does eating right before bed cause weight gain?

My work often keeps me late, so I usually end up eating my dinner very close to bedtime. I'm trying to manage my weight and heard this habit is really bad for it. Is it true that eating right before bed causes weight gain?

I have replied to similar queries before, and the short answer is yes, it can. When you eat late, your body doesn't get time to digest the food properly before you sleep. Try to keep at least a 2-hour gap between your dinner and bedtime for a healthy metabolism.

If I feel very hungry at night, I just drink a warm glass of milk with a little turmeric instead of eating heavy food. This old remedy satisfies the hunger and helps you sleep without putting pressure on your stomach. Heavy late dinners always lead to acidity and weight gain.

Actually, I also have this bad habit of eating biscuits right before sleeping because of late-night study. Is it okay if I just eat fruits instead of biscuits at night, or will that also cause weight gain? I am a bit confused.

Haan, bilkul, late night heavy meals definitely increase weight na! When we sleep, our body's digestion slows down completely. Agar bhook lagti hai, toh thoda sa salad ya milk le lo, par heavy dinner bed pe jaane se pehle bilkul avoid karo.

Hey, don't worry too much. Eating late occasionally won't ruin your health, but making it a daily habit definitely slows down digestion and adds extra calories. Just try to finish your meals a bit earlier, and your body will feel much lighter and energetic.
