Does eating nuts cause weight gain?

I've started incorporating more nuts like almonds and walnuts into my daily diet for their health benefits. However, a friend warned me that they are high in calories. Does eating nuts regularly cause weight gain?

Nuts are very calorie-dense, so if you eat them like potato chips while watching TV, you will definitely gain weight. But a small handful of almonds or walnuts pre-workout gives awesome energy. It is all about tracking your portions and staying active.

I used to be so scared of eating nuts thinking they would make me fat, so I stopped completely. But my nutritionist explained that the healthy fats in them actually help control cravings. Now I eat 5-6 soaked almonds daily and my weight has been totally stable.

Nature has packed so much goodness in small nuts to nourish our body and mind. Eat them with a positive and grateful heart, and they will only bring health. Avoid overthinking every calorie; just keep your mind peaceful and live simply.

Honestly, I used to munch on salted cashews all day while studying and that did make me gain a bit. Now I have switched to plain, unsalted walnuts and almonds, and I restrict it to just a small katori. It is totally about portion control, don't worry!

If you log your food on a tracking app, you will realize that 10 almonds are about 70-80 calories. They won't make you gain weight unless you are already eating in a calorie surplus. They are actually a great, clean snack option to hit your daily fat macros.
