Does eating before bed cause weight gain?

After a long day at the office, I sometimes eat a big meal right before I hit the bed. My wife says this habit makes me gain weight. Is it true that eating before bed causes weight gain?

It really depends on what you eat before bed. If you eat a light salad or some roasted chana, it won't affect you much, but heavy carb meals right before sleeping will surely cause weight gain.

I recently lost 6 kgs just by stopping all food after 8 PM. Earlier, I used to munch on biscuits while watching TV before bed, and stopping that made a huge difference.

I used to have severe acid reflux and gained a lot of weight from eating late at night, which eventually impacted my liver. Please consult a doctor if you are experiencing constant bloating or weight issues.

In our younger days, we always finished dinner before sunset and worked in the fields. Our bodies are not meant to digest heavy meals while sleeping, so try to keep a gap.

Honestly, it is all about your daily calorie limit! But eating early definitely helps you wake up feeling fresh and active in the morning. 😊
