Does drinking cause weight gain?

I've noticed I'm steadily gaining weight over the past year, even though my eating habits haven't drastically changed. I do drink socially every now and then. Could regular drinking be the main reason for my weight gain?

I have recently noticed some weight gain around my stomach and I do drink cocktails occasionally. Do those sugary mixers have more calories than the alcohol itself, or should I stop drinking completely to lose this weight?

Actually, yaar, alcohol has so many empty calories and then you end up eating greasy chakna late at night. That combination is a total disaster for your waistline. If you want to lose weight, you really need to cut down on those weekend drinks.

Yes, absolutely! Alcohol is packed with liquid calories, especially if you love sweet cocktails or beer. Plus, it makes us crave cheesy pizzas and fries! Try swapping drinks for lime soda and see the magic.

Drinking alcohol disrupts the body's natural digestive fire (Agni) and leads to the accumulation of toxins and fat. When we keep our body pure and practice daily yoga, we naturally feel lighter. Try to avoid these heavy drinks to maintain a healthy weight.

Yes, alcohol has high empty calories and slows down your metabolism, leading to quick fat storage.

Haan na, alcohol causes major weight gain, especially around the belly. We drink and then sleep immediately, so nothing gets digested properly. It is better to avoid it and have simple home food instead.

From a purely nutritional standpoint, alcohol has 7 calories per gram, which is almost as high as pure fat. When you drink, your body burns alcohol first and stores all the food you eat as fat. If you want to stay in shape, you must limit liquid calories.

Alcohol consumption contributes to weight gain through high caloric density, appetite stimulation, and reduced fat oxidation. It also affects sleep quality, which disrupts hormones regulating hunger. For weight management, consulting a professional nutritionist is highly recommended.
