Does darzalex cause hair loss?

My mother is undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma and has recently started taking Darzalex. We're keeping an eye on side effects, and she's very worried about losing her hair again. Does Darzalex typically cause hair loss?

Hey, please don't stress too much about this right now. Hair thinning can sometimes happen with these heavy treatments, but it's not the same for everyone. Just focus on your strength and let the doctors handle the main treatment, you are going to be absolutely fine.

From what I have seen with family, main chemo drugs cause hair loss but targeted ones like Darzalex might just cause some mild thinning or dryness. 😊 Keep eating healthy and stay positive, your hair will surely bounce back later!

I totally get it, worrying about hair loss on top of everything else is so hard and stressful. Usually, Darzalex doesn't cause complete hair loss on its own, but since it is often given with other medications like steroids, that can sometimes cause thinning. Sending you lots of strength and gentle hugs.

Actually, Darzalex is immunotherapy yaar, not your typical harsh chemotherapy. So complete hair loss is very rare with this, though some general thinning can happen. Just talk to your oncologist once to be sure, tension mat lo.

Honestly, the main focus should be keeping your body strong during this therapy. Try to keep up with high-protein food if your appetite allows and do some light walking to keep the blood circulation going. Good nutrition really helps your hair follicles stay as healthy as possible during treatment.

Please be very careful and keep your medical team in the loop about any side effects. My relative had a tough time with sudden side effects during immunotherapy, so it is always best to let your doctor check any scalp irritation or hair shedding immediately.
