Does dandruff shampoo remove hair color?

I recently colored my hair, and now I've noticed I have dandruff too, which is annoying. I need to use a dandruff shampoo to fix it, but I'm worried it might strip my hair color and make it fade fast. Does dandruff shampoo typically remove hair color quickly, or is it generally safe for colored hair?

Yes beta, it definitely washes out hair color much faster. My daughter got her hair dyed and then used her regular dandruff shampoo, and the color faded within two washes. It is better to avoid strong anti-dandruff shampoos if you want to keep your hair color fresh.

Bro, it absolutely strips the color. I got some cool highlights done last month but had to use my anti-dandruff shampoo for my dry scalp, and the highlights faded so fast. If you must use it, just try to apply it only to the roots, not the colored ends.

Oh god, yes! I learned this the hard way after spending thousands on a burgundy color. One wash with my anti-dandruff shampoo and half the color was down the drain. It is literally like a clarifying wash, so avoid it if you just got your hair colored.

These modern chemical hair dyes and strong anti-dandruff shampoos both contain heavy chemicals that fight with each other, causing the color to bleed. In our family, we suggest using mild shikakai or curd to clean the scalp gently so that both the hair color and scalp health are preserved naturally.

Yes, dandruff shampoo is very harsh and strips hair dye quickly. On a side note, if you are experiencing severe dandruff along with sudden hair texture changes, do get your thyroid checked. Regular doctor follow-ups and tests are very important to manage these scalp issues from the root.

Anti-dandruff shampoos contain sulfates and active clarifying agents that open up the hair cuticles, causing the color molecules to escape. My dermatologist confirmed that while they don't chemically bleach the hair, they do wash away semi-permanent and permanent dyes much faster than normal shampoos.

Haan yaar, anti-dandruff shampoos are quite strong, so color toh fade hoga hi na. Actually, they are meant to deep clean the scalp, which ends up lifting the dye molecules. Agar use karna hi hai, toh color-safe shampoo look up karo.
