Does dandruff shampoo help with hair loss?

I've been experiencing both dandruff and quite a bit of hair loss recently, which is making me quite stressed. I was wondering if using a good dandruff shampoo could potentially help with the hair loss problem as well. Is there a chance it treats both issues simultaneously?

I completely understand how heartbreaking it is to see chunks of hair fall out every time you wash. I used to cry looking at the bathroom floor. Dandruff shampoo only helped reduce the hair loss that was caused by constant scratching and scalp inflammation, so hang in there, it gets better.

Haan na, actually if your hair fall is because of severe dandruff and itching, then it helps. Because once dandruff goes, scalp healthy ho jata hai and hair fall slows down. But normal hair loss ke liye it won't do much, simple.

Keeping a clean scalp with a good shampoo is good, but don't forget overall body circulation. If your doctor allows, starting daily brisk walking or light exercise can improve blood flow to your hair follicles, which naturally helps reduce stress-related hair fall.

My doctor prescribed an anti-dandruff shampoo for my hair fall, but I am so scared that the strong chemicals might actually make more hair fall out. Has anyone else felt this fear, and did the shampoo actually help you guys or make it worse?

There is a logical connection: treating a flaking scalp reduces the urge to scratch, which prevents mechanical hair breakage. However, hair loss has multifactorial causes ranging from stress to genetics. A dermatologist's professional advice is always best to diagnose the exact trigger.

Shampoo can only treat the scalp surface, but hair needs nourishment from within to stop falling. Make sure you are eating a balanced vegetarian diet with plenty of almonds, walnuts, and seeds for those healthy fats. Combined with a clean scalp, this is the best way to handle hair fall.

I spent days reading research papers online trying to find if ketoconazole stops hair loss, and I got so overwhelmed. Honestly, please don't stress yourself out with too much internet reading. If your scalp is itchy, try a mild anti-dandruff shampoo first, but don't expect it to solve all hair loss issues.

I also thought my hair loss was just because of dandruff and tried multiple medicated shampoos, but nothing worked. It was only after I got my thyroid tests done on my doctor's advice that I found the real cause. Please get your routine blood tests done and keep a regular follow-up with your doctor.

I recently recovered from severe hair shedding. My doctor explained that dandruff was causing micro-inflammation around my hair roots, making them weak. Using a targeted anti-dandruff shampoo for three weeks completely stopped the itching and significantly reduced my hair fall. It really works if dandruff is the root cause.

Listen, if your hair loss is due to androgenic alopecia or nutritional deficiencies, dandruff shampoo won't do a thing. But if a fungal infection is causing the shedding, then a medicated zinc pyrithione shampoo will definitely control it. Use it twice a week and give it at least a month to show results.
