Does dandruff shampoo help hair grow?

I've been using a dandruff shampoo, and it's helping with the flakes, but I was wondering if it has any other benefits for my hair. Does dandruff shampoo also help in making hair grow longer or thicker? I'd love an extra boost for my hair health.

Let's be direct, dandruff shampoo is not a hair growth miracle potion. Its only job is to clean your scalp and get rid of yeast infections. If your scalp is clean and healthy, your hair might grow better naturally, but don't expect the shampoo itself to speed up growth.

I totally get it, when we are struggling with hair thinning we want any product to help with growth. But anti-dandruff shampoos can actually be quite drying for normal hair. They only help growth indirectly by clearing out the dandruff that blocks your hair follicles.

Bro, honestly it doesn't do anything for growth. I used it for six months thinking my hair would get thick, but it just made my hair super dry like rassi. Better to stick to normal hair oil and a basic diet if you want length.

I deal with hair thinning due to PCOS, and in my experience, dandruff shampoos don't stimulate new hair growth. They just keep the scalp clean, which prevents further breakage from scratching. For actual growth, you might need to check your hormonal health and nutritional levels first.

Exactly, it doesn't directly cause growth. A clean scalp just provides a better environment for your natural hair cycle to function properly.

Hair growth comes from within, through good nutrition and proper blood flow. Dandruff shampoo only cleanses the external skin of the scalp. I suggest regular head massages with warm coconut oil and daily practice of Balayam to naturally stimulate your hair follicles.
