Does daily shampoo cause hair loss?

I wash my hair almost every day because it gets oily very quickly in this weather. But lately, I've been seeing a lot of hair fall out in the shower, which is quite concerning. Does shampooing daily actually cause hair loss, or is it just a myth?

Listen, washing your hair daily doesn't cause hair to fall from the roots. It only washes away the hair that had already detached and was going to fall anyway. Just make sure you are using a very mild, sulfate-free shampoo so your scalp doesn't get too dry.

Don't fall for internet myths saying daily washing causes baldness. Hair loss is usually genetic or hormonal, not caused by shampoo. If you are experiencing excessive thinning, skip the DIY remedies and visit a qualified dermatologist.

I used to shampoo daily because of my oily scalp, and my hair fall got worse because the harsh chemicals stripped my scalp's natural oils. I switched to shampooing twice a week and using water-only washes in between. My scalp health and hair fall improved drastically.

I went to a dermatologist at Apollo last month for my hair thinning. He clearly told me that daily washing is fine if you have an oily scalp, but you must ask your doctor about the right kind of therapeutic shampoo instead of using random cosmetic ones.

No, daily shampooing doesn't cause hair loss. It just cleans the scalp, but using a harsh shampoo daily can make your hair dry.
