Does cutting hair help with hair loss?

My hair has been falling out quite a lot recently, and it's making me anxious. My grandmother always says cutting it short will make it grow back thicker and reduce hair fall. Does cutting hair actually help with hair loss?

I know how heartbreaking it is to see chunks of hair on your brush, it used to give me so much panic. Trimming helps remove split ends so it looks thicker, but it doesn't stop the actual shedding from the roots. Your feelings are completely valid, just take it easy.

Honestly, cutting your hair won't stop it from falling out because the root is in the scalp, not the ends! It's like trimming curry leaves—it just makes them look neat. Better to focus on eating nutrient-rich food like eggs and nuts instead.

Arre, don't stress too much about it! Getting a shorter haircut will definitely make your hair look fuller and put less weight on the roots, which is great. But the real fix is a good hair serum and proper sleep, so chill!

I tried cutting my hair short thinking it would stop my receding hairline, but it did absolutely nothing. Hair loss is mostly internal—either stress or genetics. I had to consult a dermatologist and start proper scalp treatment to see a difference.

I am also facing a lot of hair fall recently and I was thinking of shaving my head completely. Does that actually help the new hair grow back thicker, or is it also just a myth? If anyone knows, please tell me.

Cutting hair only changes the outer appearance, it won't fix root issues. When my hair was thinning, my doctor told me it was due to stress and high blood pressure affecting circulation. Get your routine blood tests and thyroid levels checked first.
