Does crestor cause weight gain?

I just started taking Crestor for my cholesterol, and I'm a bit worried about potential side effects. My friend gained a lot of weight on a different statin. Does Crestor cause weight gain, or is it usually not an issue?

My brother felt his weight went up slightly after starting Crestor, and our elders suggested some herbal teas. But I insisted he talk to his cardiologist first. The doctor explained that while weight gain is rare, lifestyle changes alongside the pill are what truly keep cholesterol in check.

Honestly, with my bad sleep schedule, my weight goes up just by looking at a samosa! I don't think Crestor is the main culprit here, but maybe talk to your doc if you suddenly feel like a balloon. Otherwise, it is probably just our midnight cravings.

Managing BP and cholesterol together can be tricky, and sometimes medication changes affect your metabolism. Crestor doesn't directly cause massive weight gain, but you must get regular lipid profiles and checkups done. Keep your daily walks and diet consistent.

I agree, it doesn't directly cause weight gain for most people, but tracking your daily diet helps.

Since I have thyroid issues, my weight fluctuates easily, and adding Crestor made me worry more. It is very important to get your thyroid and lipid panels checked regularly because metabolic changes can mimic medicine side effects. Do consult your doctor for a proper plan.
