Does creatinine cause weight gain?

I've been experiencing some unexplained weight gain and bloating lately. I also remember my last blood report showed my creatinine levels were on the higher side. Does creatinine cause weight gain, or is there no link?

I totally panicked last year when my weight shot up and creatinine was slightly high. Actually, my doctor told me creatinine is just a muscle waste product and doesn't cause weight gain itself, though water retention can sometimes affect both. Don't worry, it's easily manageable.

Listen, don't stress too much about this! Creatinine doesn't have calories or make you fat, so relax. If your weight is fluctuating, it might just be normal bloating or water weight. Eat clean, go for a walk, and you will be absolutely fine!

In my experience, when the body filters waste properly, we feel light and healthy. Creatinine won't cause weight gain directly, but sluggish kidneys can cause fluid retention. Practicing mild pranayama and drinking warm water help keep the body systems in harmony.

I am also trying to understand this because my recent blood reports came back. I noticed some swelling in my feet along with a little weight gain, but I am not sure if they are related. Does anyone know if water retention is what links these two?

I am no expert, but I can tell you what happened with me. When my creatinine levels went up due to some heavy gym supplements, I didn't gain any fat, but my body held a lot of water. Once I stopped those supplements and drank more water, my weight went back to normal.
