Does creatinine cause kidney damage?

My recent health check-up showed my creatinine levels are a bit high. My doctor mentioned it's a marker for kidney function. I am worried, does creatinine cause kidney damage itself, or is it just an indicator of an existing problem?

I just recovered from a kidney scare last month where my creatinine levels shot up. Let me clarify, creatinine itself is just a waste product and doesn't cause damage, but high levels in your blood show that your kidneys might not be filtering properly. Definitely get it checked by a doctor.

Don't worry, creatinine is just the messenger, not the villain! High creatinine levels are like a smoke alarm telling you to check the kitchen, not the fire itself. Just drink water and show your reports to a doc.

As a diabetic, I have to monitor my creatinine levels closely. High creatinine is a sign of how well your kidneys are working, not the cause of damage. Make sure you keep your blood sugar under tight control and eat low-sodium foods to protect your kidneys.

I know how scary kidney reports can look. While drinking coriander seed water or barley water can help with mild urinary health, please don't rely only on home remedies for high creatinine. It is very important to consult a nephrologist for proper guidance.

No, creatinine is a normal byproduct of muscle breakdown that your kidneys filter out. High creatinine levels mean your kidneys might already be under stress, not that creatinine is causing the damage. Go see a specialist to find the real issue.

Actually yaar, creatinine is just a waste product that our body throws out. High creatinine just means your kidneys are working a bit slow and need attention. Don't panic, just book an appointment with a good doc and get it sorted.

Creatinine is an indicator of kidney function, not a toxin that causes damage. Elevated blood levels usually point to a decreased glomerular filtration rate. A professional medical evaluation is absolutely necessary to diagnose the underlying cause.
