Does combipatch cause weight gain?

My gynaecologist suggested Combipatch for my menopausal symptoms. I'm concerned about gaining weight, so I wanted to ask if this patch causes weight gain.

Combipatch is a hormone replacement therapy, and fluid retention or mild weight changes are quite common when you start. Usually, this settles down in a few months as your body adjusts. Just keep a tab on your salt intake and stay active.

I am so tired that even looking at a patch makes me feel like sleeping. Hormonal stuff can definitely cause bloating, making you feel like you gained five kilos overnight. It is mostly water weight, so don't throw away your jeans just yet.

These hormone patches are already quite expensive, and if they cause issues, managing side effects can add to your costs. Before starting, plan some budget for regular thyroid and blood panel tests to make sure your hormones are balanced properly.

I can only tell you what happened with me—I used the Combipatch for my menopause symptoms and noticed some bloating in the first month. My actual weight didn't go up much, but the puffiness made me feel heavier. It got better after a while.

My doctor just suggested Combipatch to me and I am really nervous about starting it. Does the weight gain happen immediately, or does it take a few weeks to show? If anyone has used it, please let me know how you managed.

Look, hormonal patches can cause some water retention, which feels like sudden weight gain. But let's be real—if your diet and lifestyle are in check, it won't cause major fat gain. Keep your fried foods in check and talk to your doctor if it goes out of hand.
