Does cod liver oil expire?

I found an old bottle of cod liver oil capsules in my cupboard, and I'm wondering if they're still good to use. Does cod liver oil actually expire and become unsafe after some time?

Yes, it absolutely expires. I recently found an old bottle in my drawer and noticed they had turned cloudy and smelled really bad. When I checked the date, it was past expiry. Definitely throw them away if they are expired.

Listen, don't take any risk with expired supplements. Cod liver oil is highly sensitive to light and heat and can oxidize easily, which makes it bad for your stomach. If the date has passed, just throw the bottle out and buy a fresh one.

Hey, don't stress if you accidentally took one expired capsule, but definitely don't take any more! They can smell super fishy and give you a bad stomach upset once they expire. Just check the pack next time!

My grandmother always said that oils can go rancid and become harmful if kept for too long. For safety, always check the manufacturing and expiry date on the box. If you are unsure, it is best to ask your pharmacist before consuming.

Yes, like any other medicine or oil, cod liver oil also has a specific shelf life. Once it crosses the expiry date, the nutrients degrade and the oil becomes rancid. It is not wise to use expired products for your health.

I used to store my supplements on the kitchen counter and they spoiled even before the expiry date because of the heat. Yes, they expire, and you can easily tell by the strong, sour fishy smell. Always store them in a cool cupboard.

Yes, it does. My health tracker app actually has a section showing that expired fish oils undergo lipid peroxidation, which is not good for your body. Always store the bottle in a cool, dark place to make sure it lasts till its expiry date.
