Does clomid cause weight gain in men?

My doctor suggested Clomid for my low testosterone levels, and I'm trying to decide if I should take it. I'm generally careful about my fitness, so I wanted to know if Clomid can cause weight gain specifically in men. Any experiences shared would be helpful.

I agree that Clomid can cause some mild weight gain in men due to increased testosterone converting to estrogen. Keeping your daily diet clean really helps manage this easily.

I was prescribed Clomid for low testosterone last year. Personally, I did notice about 2-3 kgs of weight gain, mostly water retention around my stomach, but my energy levels were much better. I managed to lose it later with regular workouts.

Since Clomid alters hormone levels in men, it can lead to increased appetite and water weight. I suggest sticking to a high-protein vegetarian diet with plenty of fiber to avoid extra calorie intake during this phase. Avoid processed foods to keep sodium levels low.

My husband took Clomid for fertility issues and yes, he did experience some bloating and slight weight gain because of the hormone changes. It is totally normal, so just help him focus on healthy home meals and some light exercise until the treatment is done.

While slight weight gain can happen due to hormone shifts on Clomid, any rapid or excessive weight gain should be reported. It is crucial to have regular blood tests to monitor your hormone levels. Please stay in close touch with your endocrinologist for safety.
