Does clomid cause weight gain?

My doctor just started me on Clomid to help with fertility, and I'm very hopeful. However, I'm also a bit worried about potential side effects like weight gain. Has anyone experienced gaining weight while taking Clomid?

Oh, Clomid definitely gave me some crazy food cravings, especially for sweets and spicy chaat! I did feel very bloated and put on a couple of kilos during my cycle, but most of it was just water retention. Just keep some healthy snacks handy so you don't overeat like I did!

My wife took Clomid during our fertility journey, and let me tell you, the hormonal mood swings and bloating were quite a ride for both of us! She did gain a little weight, but it was mostly temporary fluid retention. Just support your partner through it, the weight can always be lost later.

Yes, Clomid can cause a bit of bloating and weight gain due to hormonal shifts. To manage this simply at home, cut down on extra salty food and drink at least 3 liters of water daily to reduce water weight. It is a temporary phase, so don't stress too much about the scale.

Weight fluctuation is a documented side effect of Clomid, primarily driven by estrogen changes causing water retention. Most women find that this weight normalizes once the treatment cycle is complete. If the weight gain is excessive or causing distress, your gynecologist is the best person to advise on alternative protocols.

Please monitor your weight closely while on Clomid. I had a sudden, rapid weight gain of 3 kgs in two days due to mild Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), which can be risky. If you experience sudden weight gain, severe bloating, or pelvic pain, please contact your doctor immediately.

Any hormonal medication can cause fluid retention, which can sometimes slightly affect your blood pressure too. It is important to keep a check on your weight and blood pressure during such treatments. Make sure you discuss any sudden physical changes with your medical team.

Hormone medicines like Clomid do cause the body to hold onto water, making you feel heavy and swollen. I found that drinking warm fennel seed water in the morning helped a lot with the bloating. Be gentle with your body during this treatment, it is doing a lot of hard work.
