Does chemotherapy cause hair loss?

My relative is about to start chemotherapy for cancer. I heard that it causes hair loss, which is a big concern for him. Does chemotherapy cause hair loss, and if so, how severe is it usually?

Yes, many types of chemo do cause hair loss. Since I manage diabetes, my doctor told me to focus strictly on my blood sugar levels and simple home-cooked food during treatment, rather than stressing about hair. Keep your nutrition clean and trust your medical team.

It actually does for most standard chemo drugs, yaar. It can be super scary when it starts falling out in clumps. But honestly, it is temporary and my cousin got her full volume back within six months of finishing treatment. Hang in there!

I lost all my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes during my cycles last year. It is tough to see in the mirror, but I promise you it starts growing back within a few weeks of your last session. Just focus on getting through the treatment right now.

Yes, it is a very common side effect of many chemotherapy drugs. While eating a good vegetarian diet with lots of dal, paneer, and green veggies won't stop the hair fall, it will definitely help your body recover and support new hair growth later. Keep your nutrition high.

I know exactly how much anxiety this causes, I spent days crying just thinking about it. Yes, it does cause hair loss in most cases, and it is completely normal to feel devastated. Give yourself permission to feel sad, but remember you are doing this to save your life.

I totally get it, losing hair feels like losing a part of your identity and it is incredibly hard. Yes, chemo often causes this, but please don't let it steal your spirit. You are so much more than your hair, and this phase will pass.

Yes, chemo can cause hair fall. My family suggested applying various herbal oils, but I strictly followed my doctor's advice and avoided putting anything on the sensitive scalp. Trust your doctor's guidance completely, they know what is safest for you.
