Does cbc show liver enzymes?
My doctor ordered a CBC test for my general check-up. I'm a bit worried about my liver because of my lifestyle. Does a CBC test show liver enzymes or give any indication about liver health?

No, a CBC won't show your liver enzymes. I get blood work done regularly for my sugar levels, and liver enzymes are part of a LFT (Liver Function Test). It is always better to get the specific test your doctor writes down.

Actually, CBC only checks your blood cells and infection markers. It does not check liver enzymes at all. You will have to get a Liver Function Test done for that, so please consult your doctor once.

I log all my lab reports on my health app and CBC only tracks things like platelets, red blood cells, and hemoglobin. For liver enzymes like SGOT and SGPT, you need to book a Liver Function Test. You can easily find it on any diagnostic app.

In all my years of getting health checkups, I have learned that CBC and liver tests are totally different. CBC is just for complete blood count, beta. For the liver, our doctor always prescribes the LFT panel.
