Does castor oil help in hair fall?

I've been experiencing quite a bit of hair fall recently, and it's making me anxious. I heard that applying castor oil to the scalp can strengthen hair and reduce fall. Does castor oil help in hair fall, or is it just a home remedy with no real effect?

Haan na, hair fall hum sabko bahut tension deta hai. Castor oil actually direct lagane ke liye bahut heavy hota hai, toh use thoda coconut oil ke saath mix karke lagana padta hai. But use pure scalp pe lagane se pehle check kar lo agar suit karta hai toh.

For hair health, gentle scalp massage with diluted castor oil once a week can stimulate circulation. Along with this, practicing Balayam and deep breathing help reduce stress, which is a major cause of hair fall. True healing always happens from within.

I asked my trichologist about this and she said castor oil can make your hair look thicker by coating the strands, but it doesn't promote new growth. In fact, if not washed out properly, its thick texture can clog follicles and increase hair fall. She advised using lighter oils instead.

While castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid and moisturizes the scalp well, there is no scientific proof that it can cure pattern hair loss. Hair fall is often linked to nutritional deficiencies or hormonal issues. Visiting a dermatologist for a proper blood panel is the most effective step.

In our younger days, we used home-pressed castor oil for thick hair, but we always diluted it because it is very sticky. Don't worry too much about normal daily hair fall, as it changes with seasons. Eat fresh amla and green leafy vegetables, that is the best remedy.
